Light that Connects
UrbaSens Connect is a unified (single) Lighting Control & Central Management System no matter the geographical / network connectivity conditions.
NB IoT works best where the lighting network is more distributed, such as remote car parks, sites or public settlements.
Then where the lighting network is denser, like cities, towns and residential spaces, you the system would likely use mesh connection.
Methods of Connection
MESH
• All luminaires are connected to the gateway via 2.4GHz mesh network which auto configures and auto heals
• Up to 150m line of site - If a luminaire is beyond direct reach to the gateway, it uses mesh to ‘hop’ to gateway
• Gateway connects all luminaires to the cloud with SIM card in Gateway
NB-IOT
• Communication is direct between luminaire and mobile cellular tower using SIM technology
• Zhaga and Nema sensors operate directly to the luminaire (1:1).
HYBRID
• Where both connection types are needed, we can embed a hybrid system.
• Light point to the cloud via SIM and comms tower
• Light point hardwired to a street cabinet, then controller to the cloud
• Or wireless mesh to a gateway and onto the cloud
