Orus Pro is a low-level mounted solution that combines Thorn’s clever Flat Beam® technology with an upgraded luminaire housing to light roads effectively, with excellent visual comfort. Some lighting schemes have limitations that make certain conventional lighting solutions like post-top luminaires or façade mounting less viable. Mounting heights may be restricted by structures or local regulations, there may be a need to minimise obtrusive light, or ease of access may be required for maintenance. Available in stirrup-mounted or bollard variants, Orus Pro offers an alternative to conventional pole lighting that delivers high-performance, uniform illumination and meets rigorous lighting safety standards.

FLAT BEAM® TECHNOLOGY

FOR EXCEPTIONAL OPTICAL PERFORMANCE

Thorn's Flat Beam® optical technology offers a sharp and precise light distribution whilst optimising luminaire efficiency. The optical light engine is designed to be mounted below the driver's eye line, with a recessed LED source and purpose-made reflector, eliminating direct glare and enhancing visual guidance. The lit effect is highly diffused for better uniformity, yet well defined and controlled to prevent backlight and minimise obtrusive light. Extensively tested for luminance, glare and flicker, Orus Pro provides fantastic light control and visual comfort.

High-efficiency

In comparison with conventional pole lighting, Orus Pro offers a 50% energy saving: it reduces power consumption and power density (DPI) by 50% on average, compared with high efficacy 10m high pole luminaire and 30 meter spacing.

Orus Pro can be positioned on one or both sides of the road, with spacing of 8 metres to 15 metres, to provide installation flexibility to light roads and spaces of up to 20 metres wide.

In addition, by eliminating the need for poles and their supporting infrastructure, Orus Pro presents a long-term, cost-effective solution due to ease of install and maintenance combined with low power density and high energy efficiency.

Orus Pro comes equipped with a high-efficiency Tridonic D4i driver as standard, making it fully future-proof. It can be integrated into Thorn’s UrbaSens wireless control systems, either at the initial installation or later as part of a lighting network improvement plan by simply adding an external wireless control node.
